For the third time in as many days, we’ve had 3 or 4 ambulances on the road simultaneously for 3 or 4 different calls. This evening our duty crew was assigned to a trauma in Andover Township. Having responded to the first call with BLS 4351 almost immediately, our station was alerted by Sparta Police Dispatch for a second call in Byram about ten minutes after that. A scramble crew assembled and handled that job with BLS 4352. Ten minutes later a third call came in for another call in Byram Township. BLS 4353 marked up for that assignment. All the while, BLS 4355 was on a special detail tonight at the Sussex County Community College EMT Class at the Public Safety Academy. Earlier today, both 4351 and 4352 were out on other simultaneous calls in Byram and Stanhope. Many thanks to our dedicated volunteers who continue to tackle a busy week! If you or someone you know want to be a part of our busy organization, contact us on Facebook or use the Contact Us page on our website! ...

Minutes later that call was upgraded to critical incident with a request for additional manpower to the scene. Simultaneously, Sparta Police NJ Dispatch was alerting our station with Byram Twp Fire Department for a MVC head-on on Lackawanna Drive with multiple patients. BLS 4351 handled the first medical call, BLS 4353 responded to the accident, with subsequent support from BLS 4355 and BLS 4352 at the scene due to four patients and three cars involved. Another medical call in Byram came in while we were on scene and BLS 4352 freed up to handle that call, while the other two units from the accident transported to local hospitals. BLS 4351 was assigned to a fourth call in Stanhope within an hour or so of the first call, but they were subsequently canceled. ...
